I was the kid that followed streams and wandered through cornfields and woods. I would jump on my bike and go further than my parents allowed. My love for exploration equalled my passion for and obsession with art.
To this day exploration is a major part of the creation of my photographic work.
I discover my subjects by walking, biking or driving. Curiosity leads me to interesting places where I find interesting things.
More often than not I revisit a place multiple times to create an image. I wait for light, clouds or conditions to match what I imagine can be. Persistence pays off.
Printing and presentation are processes that play equal part in the creation of my artwork.
The fine art photograph is something that can be held, displayed and passed on through time.
A photograph isn’t real unless it is printed. Don’t tell Facebook, Instagram or Flickr.
