Texas has an amazing variety of native plant life. Much of it is new to me since I have lived most of my life in the west, midwest and southern United States.
Many of these plants can be seen at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin Texas.
I made a trip to the Wildflower Center recently to learn, explore and photograph.
There I created this image of this beautiful Dasylirion (Sotol) plant.
The final image is printed in black and white to express the symmetry and contrast of the of the long spiny leaves.
